Remote islands. Wild ocean encounters. Mantas, sharks, and endless blue. Expert guides. World-class underwater photography. Local culture and barefoot luxury. This is the Maldives.
Trip Overview
This journey is a carefully curated open-ocean adventure across three islands and three atolls, offering encounters with the Maldives’ most spectacular marine life. Freedive, snorkel, or try scuba, while developing underwater photography and creative skills, learning from marine experts, and connecting with an female group.
ARRIVE IN MALÉ | Day 1
Welcome to the Maldives! Upon arrival at Velana International Airport, a traditional dhoni and speedboat transfer will whisk you away to the first of our three island destinations in the heart of the Indian Ocean.
ISLAND TIME IN HIMMAFUSHI | Days 1–3
Meet your new ocean family and set your intentions with a vision-boarding session to capture what this trip means to you. Shake off the jet lag with your first ocean adventures, including a Nurse Shark and Stingray excursion, swimming among what feels like a natural underwater aquarium.
MANTA MADNESS IN MAAHLOS | Days 3–7
Next, we island-hop north to Baa Atoll. Experience the manta magic of UNESCO-listed Hanifaru Bay, where hundreds of manta rays gather, timed with the new moon for peak encounters. Explore turtle and coral gardens perfect for freediving (scuba available), while developing photography fundamentals with guidance from your hosts. Between ocean sessions, soak up island life on white-sand beaches, beneath palm trees, and at sunset on a private sandbank.
SHARK HEAVEN IN FUVAHMULAH | Days 7–11
Fly to the southernmost atoll, Fuvahmulah, home of the famous tiger sharks. Enjoy twice-daily visits to Tiger Harbour, offering more time in the water than most operators. We’ll also venture offshore for the chance to encounter open-ocean travelers like oceanic whitetip and silky sharks. Practice creative portraiture with a pool shoot using silks, enjoy exclusive accommodations with a private chef, and learn from marine expert presentations.
FAREWELL FROM MALÉ | Day 11
Reflect on the memories, skills, and confidence you’ve gained and the ocean community you’ll carry with you long after the journey ends.
We’ve worked hard to secure the very best value for our guests, which is why we’ve created an itinerary more comprehensive and inclusive than many other expeditions.
